Delete your account and data
App: Cloud Backup: Photo Storage · Last updated: 27 July 2026
You can delete your Cloud Backup account and all of the data linked to it at any time. This page explains how, and exactly what gets removed.
Delete from inside the app (recommended)
- Open Cloud Backup and make sure you are signed in.
- Go to the Settings tab.
- Tap Delete account ("Erase your data").
- Read the confirmation, then tap Delete account to confirm.
The app finishes the deletion for you: it removes your files from cloud storage, deletes your account, and clears your encryption keys from the device.
Request deletion by email
If you cannot access the app (for example, you have changed phones or uninstalled it), email us and we will delete your account for you:
What gets deleted
- Your account and login (you will no longer be able to sign in).
- All files you backed up (photos, videos, documents, audio) stored in the cloud.
- Your contacts backup, if you used it.
- Your encryption keys on the device, which makes any local copy of encrypted data unrecoverable.
- Your stored account settings and entitlements.
What we may keep
We do not keep your files after deletion. We may retain a minimal amount of information where the law requires it (for example, records of a purchase for tax purposes), and short-lived copies may remain in our infrastructure providers' backups for a limited time before they are fully purged. Anything retained is handled as described in our Privacy Policy.
